Someone Stole My Brain
August 12th, 2011
Do you ever feel like something isn’t quite right, yet there is nothing in particular that is wrong? Do you ever feel like you should be lighting the world on fire, yet you are missing your usual spark? Have you ever felt a bit disconnected from your “normal” self, and you can’t quite put your finger on why? Or maybe, you know exactly why you are feeling this way, but you are puzzled to know what you need to do to bounce back to you the self you better identify with.
If you can relate to this experience I have described, if this sounds at all familiar to you, do not worry your precious heart. Do not add any undue pressure or stress to your life because you are feeling this way. So long as you keep on keepin’ on, resist the temptation to force the process you are going through.
Instead, perhaps you might benefit from a little extra compassion, patience, and mindfulness. Perhaps self-reflection and introspection may help you understand what is going on in your head and your heart, and help the two reconnect. Perhaps taking a different kind of look at yourself will help you discover what it is that you need to spread your wings and fly above this place you are in.
And while you engage in this mindfulness, remind yourself that this break you are on serves a purpose. Remember that it will run its course. Trust that whatever message your subconscious has will soon be revealed to you, and with it, a better sense of your true self.

The Road Traveled By
August 9th, 2011
“I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” –Robert Frost.
…This is one of my favorite quotes. I simply love it. I love it, because I love the road less traveled by. And I love it because that is the road that I prefer to take. It is the road that whispers sweet nothings into my ear. The road that echoes my heartsong.
So, when I read Libra’s horoscope yesterday, I was reminded of this quote. Here is what I read:
“Rather than following the same patterns in life and relationships as you have done previously, the movement of the heavenly bodies indicates that it would be of benefit to reflect on where you are actually going. Are you heading where you would like to? Are your relationships going as they should? This is particularly important before you lose your sense of perspective.”
…It can be rather easy to lose sight of where we are heading. To lose our sense of perspective. There are times in life when we feel lost, uncertain of which way we should go next and wonder about our destination. Times that we feel beaten down by the obstacles we encounter. Times that we would like to return to a place that was more comfortable. Or perhaps we are tempted to stop walking, skip a step, or start anew. Other times we may feel that we are aimlessly plodding along, void of clarity, direction, or intent. Or, rather, we may struggle to decide if we should continue to fight the good fight, or if it might instead be time to let go.
To feel uncertain about which way to turn, where to go next, can be quite uncomfortable, but it is okay. It is okay to journey into the wilderness of life and stumble, pause, redirect. It is okay to have a life story that is rich with mistakes, scars, and questions. It is okay to learn lessons the hard way. It is okay because difficult terrain is an inherent part of life’s process. It is okay because that is how we learn. That is how we progress, adapt, grow, and evolve. How we discover and appreciate the beauty and joy that fills our lives. How we find the diamonds in the rough.
…While it is okay to be feel uncertain as we travel through life, sometimes it is to our greatest benefit to take a moment and pause, even if we do so while we are in motion. To slow down and reflect on where we currently are. Where we would like to go. How we might go about moving forward. Who we are at this time.
As we take a moment to gaze at our life, we may not find any answers. We may reach no conclusions. But it is likely that we will discover insight. That we will gain just a bit more self-awareness. That we may learn something unexpected. And as that happens, we are sure to gain a new found sense of clarity.
So tonight, my wandering birds, take a moment to reflect on where you are on this journey. Are you on the path that feels right for you, or would you be better suited with a road less traveled by? Consider who is beside you along the way, and how you are interacting with them. Ask yourself what you are content with, and what you would like to do differently. Is there a way for you to hold tightly to your current contentment, while also making positive changes? Take a second to gaze at what you are doing that helps you pursue your personal journey, and what is it that might be holding you back?
…This, mis avas, is precisely what my horoscope is asking for. It is asking us to look not only at our journey, but to also think about what influence we have over it. It is asking us if we are working for or against ourselves as we carry on, and what we might do differently to reap even more rewards in this lifetime. Ask yourselves these questions, my insightful birds, and learn. Learn about who you are. Where you are going. What road to travel by.
